This year's Cattle Feeding School will focus on utilizing alternative feeds and cost of production for fed cattle in 2025.

What is the outlook for feeding beef cattle in this cattle cycle? Garth Ruff, Beef Cattle Field Specialist with OSU Extension, will cover how the beef supply looks for the coming year and what long-term goals the industry has set for itself with regards to quality. Risk management and budgets will be part of the discussion.

The OSU Farm Business Analysis Team will be on hand to discuss benchmarking and long term farm financial planning.

To wrap up the program, Allen Gahler, Educator with OSU Extension Sandusky County, and Jason Hartschuh, Dairy Management and Precision Livestock Field Specialist, will cover alternative feeds, how nitrogen applied to corn converts to protein in feed, and a comparison of different protein sources for feedlot cattle.

There is no cost to attend. Refreshments are provided. Please register at go.osu.edu/mercerbeef.
