Dr. Thomas W. Blaine of The Ohio State University, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences will present: Global Climate Change – Update 2016
The topic of global climate change has become the most widely discussed and controversial environmental topic of our time. Many people are confused after reading media reports or hearing political leaders and scientists making claims about global warming and its effects. Isn’t it true that global temperatures have been higher in the past than they are now? If so, why is global warming such a big deal? Moreover, if Earth’s temperatures have changed so drastically over its history, why is there reason to believe that man’s activities are causing current warming? Hasn’t global warming been on hiatus for the past 15 years? Doesn’t this disprove that Earth is warming at all? These and related questions will be the subject of the presentation on January 7. There will be plenty of time for your questions as well.
